  • The HIRE Act and SAP: What you need to know
    The Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act (PL 111-147), or HIRE Act, is a law passed by the Federal government and effective March 19, 2010 that encourages U.S. employers to hire unemployed workers through tax exemptions and business tax credits. An unemployed worker is defined as someone who has been out of work for 60 consecutive days or has worked no more than 40 hours in the 60 day period of unemployment. This period can span 2009 and 2010. The worker must not be a family member of the employer. The employee being hired must sign also an affidavit attesting that they meet these criteria. Download Now
